The Faculty of Law and the Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford are offering a 10 month MSc program in Law and Finance (MLF).

Launched in 2010, this full-time program offers students with a prior background in law the chance to develop an advanced interdisciplinary understanding of relevant economic and financial contexts and combines a highly analytic academic core with tailor-made practical applications derived from continuing collaboration with professional and regulatory organizations.

Admission Requirements

  • All applicants for the MLF are expected to have an outstanding undergraduate degree in law or equivalent professional qualification in law (this includes PgDL/CPE)
  • Work experience in a relevant field may be an advantage but is not a requirement.
  • The longer it is since you have been in full-time education, the more attention will be paid to any relevant professional experience.
  • Publications are not expected. They may, in certain circumstances, advantage an application but it is appreciated that the opportunity to publish may vary considerably depending on factors such as the stage the student has reached in their academic career and the structure of the course(s) they have studied. Consequently, a lack of publications will not be assessed negatively.

Three MLF core courses:

  1. two law electives chosen from a select list or,

The law electives are advanced courses in different subject areas of special interest taught by Law Faculty members over the course of the whole academic year. Two half option subjects may also be taken in lieu of one law elective.
