About the organization

The Qatar Diabetes Association is a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. It was established in 1995 with the support of His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Foundation. The association was created to support adults, children and families living with diabetes and help them manage their diabetes in order to achieve good control, avoid complications and maintain a good quality of life. In 1997, the Qatar Diabetes Association became an active member of the International Diabetes Federation to exchange knowledge and best experiences.
