The University of Westminster is a public university in London, United Kingdom. Its antecedent institution, the Royal Polytechnic Institution, was founded in 1838 and was the first polytechnic institution in the UK. It started out 180 years ago as the UK's first polytechnic institution, established to educate the working people of London. Today we continue to build on this reputation, helping students from a variety of backgrounds to realise their full potential.
