About the organization
The CNP was inaugurated on May 3, 1998, on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day. Following the assassination on December 13, 1998, of Brother Norbert Zongo, editor of the newspaper L'Indépendant and founding member of the CNP, the entire Burkinabe press decided on January 28, 1999 to dedicate this house to his memory. The CNP-NZ thus continued its activities with more success until 2004. From that date and aware of the need to strengthen the bases of its organizational development, the CNP-NZ is committed to a strategic planning process with the support of its partners, the Dutch, Danish and French Embassies, through a strategic plan that started in 2005.
