Supreme Council of Culture

About the organization

Supreme Council of Culture was established in 1956 as an independent body affiliated to the Egyptian Cabinet of Ministers, with a mission of coordinating the efforts of governmental institutions working in the fields of art, literature and to unite these efforts. SCC has extended to be the main setter of cultural policy all over Egypt, working through its 28 committees, consisted of elite group of Egyptian intellectuals and artists across the spectrum and from different age groups. These committees work in the fields of arts, literature and social sciences.
