Purchase College was founded by Governor Nelson Rockefeller in 1967. It is a public college located in Harrison, New York. It offers a unique education that emphasizes mastery of skills and creativity. Purchase College is one of the best art colleges in the USA. Purchase College's School of Art+Design houses the college's programs in graphic design, painting/drawing, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. It also houses the Richard and Dolly Maas Gallery. The School of Art+Design hosts an annual Visiting Artist Lecture Series that brings artists, art historians, and critics to campus for lectures and discussions with students.
