About the organization

Kone Foundation is an independent non-profit organization that awards grants to promote academic research, culture and the arts. It pursues active arts and research policies and constantly seeks to provide alternatives to the mainstream. Kone Foundation's vision is for free research, art and culture to flourish in an ecologically sustainable and socially equal Finland. Research and art are valuable in themselves and constantly challenge prevailing perceptions. Research output is subject to public debate and influences decision-making. Kone Foundation awards grants for academic research, the arts, and for projects that combine research and art.
