About the organization

The government is composed of government ministers, all of whom must be members of the Irish parliament. The Irish republic is a parliamentary democracy. Its constitution was promulgated in 1937 and can be amended through a referendum. The country’s head of state, the president, is elected directly by the public for a term of seven years and is eligible for reelection for a second term.
