About the organization

The Jordanian-American Commission for Educational Exchange, also known as the Fulbright Commission in Jordan, was established according to a bilateral agreement signed in May 1993 between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United States of America, and is funded annually by both countries. The Fulbright Commission is considered a binational, non-profit, independent organization responsible for implementing prestigious grants awarded competitively to Jordanians and Americans. This commission is chaired by a binational board consisting of four Jordanians and four Americans, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the American Ambassador serving as honorary co-chairs. The Fulbright program aims to enhance cultural and educational exchange between the United States and Jordan by offering grants and fellowships to Jordanian students, teachers, and researchers for study, teaching, and research in the United States, as well as enabling American academics to participate in similar activities in Jordan. These grants are awarded nationwide based on academic and professional excellence through a rigorous competitive process.
