United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in South Sudan: Associate Planning Officer.
Duration:
11 months (with possibility of extension)
Duties & responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and revision of various strategic documents.
- Assist with the provision of technical assistance and advice to all Mission components to ensure strategic guidance.
- Contribute to collecting, analyzing data and design graphs, presentations to evaluate of the Mission’s impact and performance
- Compiling and analyzing budget proposals and performance data; support the implementation of the comprehensive performance assessment system (CPAS)
- Undertake research, compile background information, draft documents, support the organization of meetings, training and workshops
- Perform other related duties, as required by the direct supervisor.
Eligibility criteria
Age: 27 - 80
Nationality: Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment.
Required experience:
- 3 years of experience in the areas of strategic planning or project management.
- Solid computer skills, including full proficiency in core Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
Languages:
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
- Arabic, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable
Required education level:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Social science; political science; international relations; international law; humanitarian affairs and relief; international development; security studies; project management; monitoring and evaluation; information management
