Applications is opened to volunteer with the National Cancer Control Foundation - Yemen. For the tenth year in a row, the Foundation is holding its campaign to support cancer patients in Yemen. It is a popular campaign that collects donations from individuals, merchants, and institutions to mobilize the necessary funding to confront cancer and be able to support patients and cover the costs of the disease and its consequences.
In light of the difficult conditions in Yemen and the scarcity of capabilities, the campaign was expanded this year to provide volunteer opportunities for activists from all over the world to participate in this humanitarian campaign. The volunteers will undertake a set of tasks that will help achieve this noble humanitarian goal, and in return, the Foundation will work to Appreciating them and giving them the honor they deserve as friends of Yemeni cancer patients and heroes who contributed to saving the lives of thousands.
Duties & responsibilities
- Participating in the campaign’s media activities, through publication, production, communication, and interaction with the Foundation’s pages on social media, in order to achieve the required reach of supporters, partners, and interested parties, with the aim of raising awareness of the issues and suffering of people with cancer in Yemen.
- Participate in compiling a database of donors and humanitarian actors, facilitate partnership opportunities with humanitarian agencies and activists abroad, collect visions, and discuss common points through which common interests that benefit people with cancer can be achieved.
- Submitting new proposals and ideas that achieve the campaign’s objectives and contribute to enhancing the Foundation’s media reach and improving funding opportunities for the Foundation’s projects.
- Direct field visits to the proposed entities through volunteers and conveying the organization’s message.
- Representing the organization as delegates in their countries and as friends of cancer patients, and striving to alleviate their suffering by all available and possible means.
- Any other tasks required by the campaign and agreed upon during the volunteer period.
Eligibility criteria
- The full desire to volunteer with the National Foundation for Cancer Control and to support cancer patients in Yemen.
- Preparing to carry out the tasks assigned to the volunteer that contribute to the success of the organization’s campaign and goals in serving cancer patients.
- The volunteer must be at least 18 years old.
- Attending meetings approved by the campaign leadership during the volunteer period.
- The volunteer period is from December 1, 2023 - February 30, 2024.
- Participation in this campaign is voluntary, and the volunteer is not entitled to ask the Foundation for any rights or alternatives, and the Foundation does not bear any costs or rights based on his participation in the campaign.
About National Cancer Control Foundation - Yemen:
It is a non-profit, non-governmental charitable organization founded in 2003. It works to help people with cancer, alleviate their pain, and assist them medically with diagnosis and treatment, and socially with food, psychological support, and physical and health rehabilitation. It pays great attention to awareness, community education, and early detection. The Foundation is a member of the Gulf Union for Cancer Control and the International Union for Cancer Control (UICC). The Foundation owns a number of shelters and medical centers, as it has 5 branches throughout the governorates of the Republic.
