Kuwait Association for the care of Children in Hospital is offering a volunteer opportunity in the KACCH playrooms in the hospitals and at Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice. Volunteers at KACCH-BACCH bring their skills, experience and enthusiasm to a broad range of tasks to support us and make a life long impact on the lives of many children and their families in Kuwait.
Duties & responsibilities
- Volunteers at KACCH-BACCH bring their skills, experience and enthusiasm to a broad range of tasks to support us and make a life long impact on the lives of many children and their families in Kuwait.
- Various events are held at Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice and in the KACCH Playrooms in Hospitals to bring entertainment, fun and joy to both children and their families.
- Be it birthdays, national day, Eid, mother’s and Father’s Day, celebrations, or other themed events or activities, they leave children and their families in the hospitals and at BACCH with huge smiles and memories!
Eligibility criteria
For Individuals
- Complete the online KACCH/BACCH Volunteer application form and upload a copy of your civil ID for a background check.
- Identify two (2) references to complete the online Referee Recommendation form. (References can be employer, coworker, professor, teacher, neighbour, and friend. Family members are not acceptable).
- If you are under 18 years of age, you must download and complete KACCH-BACCH Parent Consent form. The form should be handed to our Volunteer Manager at the time of the interview.
- We will contact you to arrange an informal interview within 2 weeks.
- If you successfully pass the background check and the interview, you will be invited to attend an orientation session.
- Placement at one of KACCH-BACCH volunteering locations will be identified based on your preferred choice as indicated in your application. If there are no vacancies available at your preferred location, other vacancies will be offered or you will be placed on waiting list.
High School/College Students
- If you are a school or a college student (over the age of 16 years) and would like to volunteer with us, please complete the online KACCH/BACCH Volunteer Application form and upload a copy of their civil ID for background check.
- Identify one (1) reference from your school/college and ask him/her to submit the Referee Recommendation form. (References can be: teacher, professor, counselor, and mentor). Alternatively, an official recommendation letter from your school/college can replace the online Referee Recommendation Form.
- If you are under 18 years of age, you must download and complete KACCH-BACCH Parent Consent form. The form should be handed to our Volunteer Manager at the time of the interview.

About Kuwait Association for the care of Children in Hospital:
KACCH child life and play programmes have since been accepted as an integral component of the paediatric services providing psychosocial and emotional support for hospitalized children and their families in almost all government hospitals across Kuwait. The scientific evidence demonstrates that the provision of appropriate therapeutic play and child life opportunities in hospital can facilitate the healing process and development of coping mechanisms in children.
