Opportunity description
The U.S. Department of State TechGirls Program 2025 is an international exchange program aimed at empowering young women from the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and the U.S. in technology and leadership. Throughout the program, participants will engage in hands-on tech workshops, leadership training, and cultural activities. The program will culminate in a job shadowing experience with tech professionals.
The program includes an intensive, hands-on technology camp with coding workshops, cybersecurity, game development, and web design. Participants will also engage in leadership development activities, fostering skills to succeed in STEM careers.
Eligibility:
The program is open to young women aged 15-17 from the United States and the following selected regions and countries:
- Sub-Saharan Africa (AF): Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia
- East Asia and the Pacific (EAP): Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Mongolia, Taiwan, Vietnam
- Europe and Eurasia (EUR): Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, Türkiye
- Middle East and North Africa (NEA): Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Tunisia
- South and Central Asia (SCA): Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
- Western Hemisphere (WHA): Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Suriname
