Opportunity description

FlashFiction101 was our first contest, and we were thrilled to receive stories from all over the world. The idea is simple: tell a story in exactly 101 words, no more, no less. Some months we feature a specific theme or idea, and other months the contest is open. Anyone over the age of 16 can enter, and we’ll post the top three stories each month on our website.

Word Count:  101 words, title excluded.

Entry Fee: £1.50

Deadline: Rolling deadline on the last day of each month.

Benefits


  • The total prize fund will be 50% of the entry fees taken.
  • The overall winner of the monthly competition will receive 50% of the prize fund and their work will be published online.
  • two runners-up will have their work published online.

Eligibility criteria

  • Authors must be 16 years of age or over
  • Entry is open to everyone; locally, nationally, and internationally, but entries must be written in English.
  • All entries must be the original and individual work of the entrant.
  • Entries must not have been previously published in print or online, been broadcast, or won a prize.
