Job Description: The Translating Research into Action Center (TRAC) and the Research on International Policy Implementation Lab (RIPIL) at American University invite applications for a full-time, one-year Postdoctoral Research Impact Fellow position, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The fellowship is open to individuals who have completed a PhD in political science, international relations, sociology, economics, public health, education policy, or a related field. Applications from historically underrepresented groups in US academic faculties are especially encouraged.
Candidates should have a strong interest in understanding how research and evidence can positively influence societal impact. Essential skills include project management, experience in interdisciplinary work, training curriculum design, primary data collection, and both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Successful candidates will be enthusiastic about working in a team dedicated to enhancing the impact of scholarship on contemporary policy challenges.

Eligibility criteria
PhD Degree: Applicants must have completed a PhD or the highest equivalent degree in a relevant discipline by the start date.
Work Experience: Applicants must have at least three years of experience in data management, analysis, and visualization.
Analytical Skills: Applicants should possess strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, along with experience in primary data collection.
Technical Expertise: Applicants must have expertise in technology, systems development, big data, open data, and data science.
Knowledge of African Contexts: Knowledge of the contexts of African countries, particularly related to climate and health, is preferred.
Full-time Availability: Applicants must be available for full-time work willing to participate in various activities and adhere to the program requirements.
