The Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading in the UKis offering Partially Funded PhD Scholarships in Atmospheric, Oceanic, Climate or Space and Geospatial Heliophysics. The duration of the scholarships is 3 years full-time and 4 years part-time between January 1, 2022 and August 31, 2023.
Benefits
Scholarships for full-time students based in Reading
- £1,000 per year for UK (home) students, £3,000 per year for international students, to be awarded as a bursary directly allocated to the PhD student.
Scholarships for part-time students and/or PhD by Distance
- Equivalent scholarships are available on a pro rata basis for students registered for a PhD by Distance and/or part-time:
- Part-time, based at Reading – £500 per year for UK students, £1,500 per year for international students
- Full-time, by distance – £500 per year for UK students, £1,500 per year for international students
- Part-time, by distance – £250 per year for UK students, £750 per year for international students.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants will need to meet all of the following requirements:
- be self-funding or have a studentship/scholarship that does not provide sufficient funding for the student's entire tuition fee and their reasonable living costs.
- Hold a master's degree with distinction in Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related physical or environmental science.
- be in possession of a formal PhD offer of admission from the University of Reading, including meeting the language requirements specified by the school upon entry.
