Opportunity description

The University of Melbourne is calling students for ten scholarships in the Melbourne School of Engineering. This scholarship was established by Alice Ida Mirams to commemorate her son James Herbert Mirams. This scholarship is available to students entering specialized master programs in the Melbourne School of Engineering.

Benefits

If you awarded one of these scholarships, you will have:

  • the J H Mirams award valued at $5,000 - $10,000 which is paid in two instalments, for a maximum of one year.
  • the chance to hold this scholarship with other scholarships offered by the Melbourne School of Engineering, the University of Melbourne, or external funding bodies, including government scholarships.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be:

  • have applied for a specialized masters program at the Melbourne School of Engineering:
  1. Master of Energy Systems
  2. Master of Engineering Management
  3. Master of Engineering Structures
  4. Master of Environmental Engineering
  • Recipients are expected to pass all subjects and achieve at least a 65% average. 

Please note:

  • This scholarship is not transferable to other courses at the University of Melbourne.
  • Funds will be paid directly into your bank account. Ensure that your banking details on the Student Portal are correct.
  • Scholarship payments to full-time students are considered tax-exempt. If you are enrolled part-time, it will not withhold income tax from your scholarship payments. 

Selection criteria:

You are assessed on academic merit, based on the results of your previous degree.
