United Nations Volunteers programme is offering an online volunteer opportunity: Assistance for software development.
Duration:
12 weeks/ 11 -15 hours
Duties & responsibilities
- The online volunteers will assist SDG AI to further develop of an online tool, which can be used to display maps and other information regarding social vulnerability.
- The tool is a react- next.js application written in JavaScript, tailwind CSS, HTML and Python for backend purposes.
- It displays web maps with React-Leaflet libraries and will be run in a local web browser as an online application.
- They need assistance to add more features to the tool, such as menu-items, toggling functions, interactive response mechanisms and more.
- Furthermore, it will be necessary to deploy the model on an online server and run it remotely.
Eligibility criteria
Required experience:
- Bachelor’s (or higher) in Computer Science or related field with strong interest in front end development.
- Applied knowledge of programming languages such as in JavaScript and frameworks like react, leaflet, openlayers, tailwind CSS, next.js and similar are required.
Languages:
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
