Opportunity description

The United Nations Interim Force for Abyei (UNISFA) Strategic and Media Liaison Office is looking for online volunteers to support UNISFA’s social media channels on X, Instagram and Facebook platforms (text and visual works in terms of graphic designs), according to the UN. You will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring the ISF's social media strategy in order to enhance brand awareness, engage target audience, and increase traffic and leads through various social media platforms.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy in line with UNISFA's mandate and activities.
  • Staying up to date on industry trends and emerging social media platforms to ensure the strategy remains relevant and competitive.
  • Content Creation and Management: - Create engaging, original, high-quality content for social media posts, including text, images, videos, and infographics.
  • Develop a content calendar and ensure consistent posting across all social media platforms.
  • Monitor and moderate user-generated content and interact with the online community.
  • Audience Engagement: Foster and maintain strong online audience relationships through timely, interactive responses.
  • Implement strategies to increase followers, likes, shares, and other relevant engagement metrics.
  • Actively participate in relevant conversations online.
  • Analytics and reporting.
  • Use social media analytics tools to track performance and gather insights into audience behavior and preferences.
  • Create regular reports to measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns and recommend improvements based on data-driven insights.
  • Campaign management.
  • Stay informed about social media trends and comply with them.
  • Stay up to date on changes in social media algorithms, policies, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in social media activities.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Previous experience in social media, communications, campaigns or strategy development.
  • Excellent communication and writing/editing skills.
  • Good knowledge of online marketing tools and channels.
  • Degree in marketing, communications, or any related field.
  • Excellent written communication skills in English.
  • It is preferable to be fluent in English.
