UN Volunteer announces an online volunteer opportunity in the field of social media support.
Duties & responsibilities
- UNIC Manama is responsible for promoting greater public understanding of and support for the aims and activities of the United Nations by disseminating information on the work of the organization to people in Bahrain and the Gulf region.
- The online volunteers will use the publications and other resources to create and curate interesting content for the social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Tasks include:
- Reading and analyzing internal resources (research and policy papers, toolkits, etc.).
- Supporting the development of monthly/weekly social media plans based on the inputs and instructions of the manager.
- Curating relevant content for an average of two-three posts a day tailored to the different social media platforms.
- Developing and implementing measurable social media content and activity.
- Creating digital adverts.
- Support content creation and management of social media accounts of the UN Information Center in Manama, which covers the Gulf countries, on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, with the aim to reach target audiences with relevant messages on the work of the UN in the region, promote UN priorities and localize UN global campaigns.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Experience in digital marketing and communications, experience using Content Management Systems.
- Excellent communication and strong copywriting skills, strong organizational and planning skills.
- A degree in journalism, communications, humanities, or related field.
- It's desirable to be fluent in Arabic.
- You must be fluent in English.
