Jusoor Foundation announces the Jusoor-ISOW Scholarship at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada for undergraduate and master’s students. In 2016, the Jusoor Foundation partnered with the Foundation for International Students Overcoming War (ISOW) at Wilfrid Laurier University to offer scholarships to outstanding Syrian women pursuing bachelor's and master's degrees. This scholarship will support a Syrian female researcher to complete her bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study and another female researcher to complete her master's degree at Wilfrid Laurier University. The applicant must show excellent leadership skills, academic drive, curiosity, and courage to study at the university.
Benefits
- This is a full scholarship and covers all tuition, fees, health insurance, airfare, and a living stipend for the duration of the program.
- The only expenses you are expected to cover if selected for the scholarship are your visa application fees. (Jusoor cannot provide an estimate on visa application fees. Please check with your local embassy.).

Eligibility criteria
- You must be a female.
- You must be a Syrian or Palestinian from Syria holding either a Syrian passport, Syrian national ID card, or Palestinian travel papers.
- You must hold at least a high school diploma if applying for a bachelor’s degree or hold at least a bachelor's degree if applying for a master's degree.
- Applications from students currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program are also welcome.
- You must have graduated from a bachelor’s degree program with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
- You must have a strong record of leadership and community engagement, as demonstrated through volunteer and/or work experience.
- You must demonstrate the willingness and intent to contribute to the redevelopment of Syria.
- You must demonstrate the willingness and intent to participate in ISOW initiatives on campus and to be an active member of Jusoor’s community.
- Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate financial need.
- You must be living in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, or Iraq.
