The IWMF Emergency Fund provides support to women journalists facing threats or hardship related to their work. The fund aims to offer assistance in emergency situations directly connected to journalistic work.
Types of Support:
- Small grants for psychological and medical care.
- Temporary relocation assistance.
- Legal aid to counter threats of imprisonment or censorship.
- Non-financial assistance (information about additional resources).
Eligibility:
- Must be a full-time or freelance woman journalist.
- Must have worked full-time as a journalist within six months of applying.
- The crisis situation must be directly related to journalistic work.
How to Apply:
Complete a preliminary questionnaire. An IWMF staff member will respond and may request additional information. Processing time varies, with priority given to urgent requests. Requests not meeting the criteria will not be considered.
