Scholarships at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University In Saudi Arabia 2023

Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University is offering scholarships for non-Saudis for the purpose of spreading Islam, learning Arabic languages, sharing knowledge, and strengthening collaboration between Saudi Arabia and international countries together to better serve humanity.

Types of Academic Scholarships:

• External scholarships for non-Saudi female students from abroad of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Internal scholarships for non-Saudi students residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with valid Residence Permit (Iqama).

Benefits for External scholarships students:

• The student's health care throughout her studies.
• Providing discounted meals.
• Offering dormitory to the student and the appropriate social, educational, cultural and training care.
• A student is compensated about the value of the ticket used to come to Saudi Arabia in the beginning of her grant. 
• The student is paid a monthly reward according to what is paid to the Saudi student.
• A student is given a one-month reward annually in exchange for books and references
• The student will be given a reward of 1,000 riyals, with an excellent grade in each academic year, at the rate of 500 riyals per semester, for her advanced level.
• A current student is given a ticket annually to her residence at the end of every year.
• The university undertakes the issuance of visa and residence permit for the student.

Benefits for Internal scholarships students:

• Tuition fees Paid by student after receiving the final acceptance -except for those accepted into the diploma program for  the Arabic Language Teaching Institute for Non-Arabic Speakers is  free
• A yearly amount of 8,000 SAR paid in 4000 SAR instalments per term for Diploma of Humanities' majors
• The internal scholarship student is exempt from instalment of one term if she passes the first year the bachelor's degree only with a GPA  not less than of 4.75 out of 5. The student must pay the fees when she didn't keep the required rate for exemption.

• The age of the applicant should be minimum 17 and maximum 25 years old for both bachelor's and diploma program of Arabic Language Teaching Institute for Non-Arabic Speakers.
• The applicant has a high school certificate or an equalized one.
•  The applicant has not been granted any other scholarship from an educational institution in Saudi Arabia.
• She should not have a previous record at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
• The high school graduation year must not exceed five years.
• The applicant must pass the medical examination stipulated by the regulations and instructions, and be medically fit.
• The applicant must not be dismissed from any other Saudi educational institution.
• That the government of the applicant's country agree to study in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for countries that require that for Saudi students.
• The applicant should bring a Police clearance certificate from the security services in her country. 

   Required documents to apply for studying by external scholarship:

• The high school certificate.
• Certificate of good conduct.
• Valid passport for the applicant.
• Approval paper from applicant's country to study in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Valid Police clearance certificate.
• Medical report issued before applying (max 3 months).

   Required documents to apply for studying by internal scholarship:

• A stamped copy of high school certificate. In case of getting the certificate from outside, the student must equate the certificate from education ministry.
• A copy of valid iqama of applicant.

About Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University:

PNU is one of the outcomes of the attention given to the higher education of women. This attention started early, when the General Presidency for the Education of Girls established the first college for women in 1390 AH, corresponding to 1970 CE. The inauguration of more colleges followed, reaching 102, ranging from university colleges to intermediary colleges and community colleges. These were distributed over 72 Saudi cities and included 600,000 students. In Riyadh alone there are six colleges; namely the College of Education for Liberal Arts Disciplines, the College of Education for Scientific Disciplines, the College of Education for the Development of Teachers, the College of Social Services, the College of Home Economics and the College of Fine Arts. In 1427 AH, a royal order was issued for the establishment of the first university for women in Riyadh, under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education. This included the six colleges located in Riyadh, in addition to a number of new colleges established for the purpose of women's education and development in the Kingdom. ​The university was inaugurated in 1428 AH with the appointment of its first rector, H.H. Dr. Al-Jawhara bint Fahd Al-Saud. On Wednesday, 29/10/1429 AH, the university was honored with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques placing the cornerstone for the university campus. His Majesty at that time saw it best to change the name to Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU); Princess Nourah being the sister of the founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the late King Abdul Aziz bin Abdulrahman.
