Opportunity description
The HZDR Summer Student Program in Germany offers a funded opportunity for international students from all over the world. Running from July to September 2025, participants will join a research group for 6-9 weeks, working under the guidance of a mentor. The program takes place at the HZDR Research Center in Dresden, Germany, with no application fee or IELTS requirement. Gain valuable international experience by spending your summer in Germany!

Objective
The Objective of this Summer Program is to invite Enrolled Undergraduate and Master Students from all over the world to Join one of the HZDR research groups and participate in their activities. This is a Kind of Summer Internship.
The HZDR researchers will guide you through your project, from initial planning to final presentation. You’ll benefit from expert supervision and coaching every step of the way. You will also experience different activities and lab tours to broaden your scientific horizons further.
Eligibility for HZDR Summer Student Program
- Open to international students from all over the world.
- University students from all over the world are welcome to apply.
- Enrolled Undergraduate students can apply.
- Enrolled Master students can apply.
- Previous work experience is not required.
- If you are studying in Germany, you are also eligible.
- Students enrolled in any field of study related to physics, chemistry, medicine, biology, life, engineering, or computer sciences are eligible to participate in the program which includes engineering.
- Show a Valid Student ID.

Program Timeline
- 23 February 2025: Application Deadline
- 24 February – 1 March 2025: Selection of students and supervisors
- 1 March – 22 March 2025: Matching of students and supervisors
- End of April 2025: Notification of acceptance or rejection
- July – September 2025: Summer Student Program
- 30 July – 29 August 2025: Lectures (mandatory attendance)
