Opportunity description
The Generations: Global 2024 scholarship, funded by the Justice Innovation Institute, offers financial support to students with innovative ideas addressing two key areas: 1) preventing child and youth abuse, or 2) supporting survivors of abuse.
The Justice Innovation Institute envisions a future where child abuse becomes a thing of the past. It acknowledges that such abuse can occur even within juvenile justice systems and welfare services, contrary to common perceptions.
The scholarship is open to individuals regardless of age, disability, or societal biases regarding their capabilities. Students who effectively address child and youth abuse are encouraged to apply.
Application Process:
Step 1: Respond to seven core questions to outline your project. Additionally, there are 21 optional questions for those who wish to provide more in-depth insights into their solutions. You can find the questions on the official website.
Step 2: The team will reach out to individuals who submit complete and acceptable applications to schedule interviews. Members of the team may undergo follow-up interviews.
No fees are required at any stage of the application process.
Application Deadlines: The deadlines for project submissions are as follows:
January 2
March 2
May 2
July 2
September 2
November 2 each year.
The Generations: Global scholarship does not define eligible expenses. Instead, each budget item will be evaluated individually based on two criteria:
- The direct impact on victims/survivors.
- The autonomy of victims/survivors in deciding how the funds are allocated.
Individuals may submit up to two applications at the same time. Note that the same project may receive ongoing funding in the future, but three or more simultaneous applications are not permitted.
The monthly evaluation system will review applications within one week of submission. Applicants may be asked to clarify aspects of their proposals through text communications.
