The Turkish Government invites students from around the world to apply for its 2023 Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. scholarships. Application submission will be available for all academic programs as of January 10th.
The Turkish Government Scholarship:
Apart from providing education opportunities at an international caliber as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience, Turkey offers scholarships to international students from all over the world to study in the most prestigious universities in Turkey. Turkey opens the doors of its universities for international students from all around the world with “Türkiye Scholarships”. The scholarship program provides its recipients with vast opportunities and education in the most prestigious Turkish universities, helping students gain new perspectives and have a unique educational experience during their studies in Turkey.
Türkiye Scholarships is a government-funded, competitive scholarship program, awarded to outstanding students to pursue full-time or short-term programs at the top universities in Turkey. Türkiye Scholarships aims to build a network of future leaders committed to strengthening cooperation among countries and mutual understanding among societies.
Requirements:
- Candidates who have graduated or are likely to graduate from an educational institution equivalent to that of Türkiye’s in the present academic (i.e. bachelor’s degree for master’s level) can apply to Türkiye Scholarships.
- There is also an age condition for candidates required to meet:
- To be under the age of 21 for Undergraduate programs
- To be under the age of 30 for Master’s programs
- To be under the age of 35 for Doctorate programs
- Applicants shouldn’t have any health problems barrier to education.
- Türkiye scholarships are open for applicants from around the world who meet these conditions.
- Students who are currently studying in Türkiye are not allowed to apply to the level that they are already studying.
- Candidates must have at least:
- For Undergraduate degree applications 70%.
- For Master’s degree and Ph.D. Degree applications 75%.
- For Medical School applications 90%.
Benefits:
- Allowance: The monthly allowance allocated according to a level of study is as follows:
- Undergraduate Students; 1000 Turkish Lira
- Master’s Students; 1,400 Turkish Lira
- Ph.D. Students; 1,800 Turkish Lira
- Accommodation: Türkiye Scholarships students can stay in public university dormitories without paying any fees. Students who do not wish to stay in these dormitories can opt for other housing options on their own expenses.
- Tuition and Fees: Türkiye Scholarships students do not pay any tuition or university fees.
- Health Expenses: Türkiye Scholarships students’ health expenses are covered by public health insurance.
- Turkish Language Course: Türkiye Scholarships Students are subject to a Turkish language course for one year if they do not have proof of Turkish Language proficiency. Turkiye Scholarships students who will study a program in other languages instead of Turkish are also required to take the Turkish Language Course.
- Travel Expenses (One-off Flight Ticket): Turkish Scholarship students are provided with a one time ticket for their first arrival in Turkey and for their departure after completing their study. If the student purchases the ticket, the amount will be reimbursed later on.
Required Documents:
- A valid National Identification Document OR a valid Passport
- A recent photo of the candidate (Please note that the photo you upload into the Application system must be a proper portrait of yourself, candidate photos which are not identifiable will undermine the evaluation of your application)
- National exam scores (required for candidates who do not possess any international qualification or certification)
- Diploma or temporary certificate of Graduation
- Academic transcripts (online screenshots and uncertified transcripts will undermine the evaluation of your application)
- International exam scores (GRE, GMAT, DELF, YDS, YÖS …etc. if required by the chosen university & program)
- Language test scores (if required by the chosen university & program)
- A research proposal and an example of your written work (for PhD applicants only)
