Funded Fellowships for Artists in Sculpture and Installation at Franconia Sculpture Park in the United States

Franconia Sculpture Park is pleased to offer a number of fellowship opportunities to support mid-career artists working in sculpture and installation, including land art, contemporary craft, experimental sound/music, and performance art. Residents will stay for 2 to 6 weeks at Franconia followed by a one-week stay in Minneapolis with Franconia partner Dreamsong. There are 8 artists will be selected for fellowship residencies and are asked to select residency session:

• Spring 2023 Session: April 6, 2023 – June 15, 2023 
• Fall 2023 Session: September 7, 2023 – November 23, 2023

If you get this fellowship, you will have the opportunity to:

• A $7500 stipend to create a finished work to be installed at Franconia Sculpture Park for up to two years.
• Online studio visit with a curator.
• 10% discount at the Franconia Commons Gift Store.
• Return as an Alumni member.
• Present your work for inclusion in the 2023 Satellite Art Show in Miami.

You should follow the following criteria:

• Be 21+ years of age, showing a strong professional working history. 
• Stay up to six weeks.
• Disciplines: sculpture and installation, including land art, contemporary craft, experimental sound/music, and performance art. 
• International artists may apply.
• Alumni may reapply.
• Artists interested in other residency opportunities will need to submit a separate application and accompanying application fee.
• Fees:
• $25 non-refundable application fee via the Submittable platform.
• Free to apply for the first two weeks the application is open.
• Alumni pay only a $15 application fee.
• Collaboratives of two submit one application and pay one fee.

Please note:

• Fellows are encouraged to fabricate work in advance before arrival. 
• Artists may stay 2-6 weeks on-site for installation/presentation. 
• Stipend use should include budgeting for travel and accommodations in Miami.
