FfDOpenCall 2025: Youth Representatives for Financing for Development

The DMUN Foundation is pleased to announce FfDOpenCall 2025, an Open Call for Representatives to attend the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), scheduled from June 30 – July 3, 2025 in Spain. This prestigious United Nations-backed event will bring together global leaders, policymakers, and changemakers to assess progress toward achieving the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

What is FfD4?

The Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development is an important event aimed at evaluating the progress of prior global frameworks, including the Monterrey Consensus, Doha Declaration, and Addis Ababa Action Agenda. The conference will also tackle urgent emerging issues related to the 2030 Agenda’s implementation. Under the directive of the UN’s General Assembly Resolution 78/231, the DMUN Foundation has the unique opportunity to nominate two youth representatives to participate in this pivotal global event.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Citizenship: Must be a citizen of a United Nations Member or Observer State.
• Travel Requirements: Must be able to fund your transportation and accommodations for the conference. Applicants must also possess a valid passport and be able to obtain the necessary visa for the conference venue in Spain.
• Self-Funding: Please note, the DMUN Foundation does not provide financial support for travel, accommodation, or other expenses.

Conferences and Timeline

Participants can apply for only one conference in the series. The available conferences for nomination include:

• IMF – World Bank Annual Meetings, Washington D.C., 25-27 October 2024
• 2nd Preparatory Commission for FfD4, UN Headquarters NYC, 2-6 December 2024
• 3rd Preparatory Commission for FfD4, Mexico City, February 2025 (Exact Date TBD)
• 4th Preparatory Commission for FfD4, UN Headquarters NYC, (TBD)
• FfD4 Conference, Spain, 30 June – 3 July 2025

Application Process

The application period runs from July 27, 2024 to June 23, 2025. Be sure to select your preferred conference when registering. After the registration period, the final confirmation of representatives will be subject to the approval of the United Nations Office.

Important Note

While the DMUN Foundation provides accreditation and necessary ground passes, participants will need to cover their own costs, including travel and accommodations. If the United Nations Office raises objections to any representative (considered a force majeure), participation may not be possible.
