Mercatus Center invites advanced undergraduate students, recent graduates, and early-stage graduate students interested in the Mercatus approach to political economy and policy analysis to a funded fellowship opportunity; Don Lavoie Fellowship. This is a competitive, renewable, and online fellowship program which opens to students from any discipline who are interested in studying key ideas in political economy and learning how to utilize these ideas in academic and policy research. Take up this fellowship and you will have the chance to become engaged with professional organizations that support the schools of thought covered in the program.

Benefits

If you get this fellowship, you will have a total award of up to $1,250 which includes: 

  • A stipend.
  • All required readings for online events.
  • Advice on research, jobs, and graduate school.

Eligibility criteria

You must follow the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in a graduate program from any university and in any discipline.  
  • You must be one of the following:
  • An advanced undergraduate considering for graduate school.
  • A recent graduate considering graduate school.
  • Don Lavoie Fellowship is open to students from any discipline or program.
  • The program will be conducted entirely online.
  • You are required to have internet access to participate in this program.
  • This fellowship is a supplemental program and fellows may hold jobs and other fellowships/assistantships during their time in the program.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Attend and actively participate in all aspects of the scheduled program of online events.
  • Regularly log into the discussion portal to read and review all posted materials and meaningfully engage in the discussion portal.
  • Complete a short evaluation survey following each module.
  • Coordinate your schedules to maintain a consistent level of meaningful engagement both in the discussion portal and online group discussion sessions throughout the duration of the fellowship to establish good overall standing (the fellowship award is contingent on good standing in the program).
