Opportunity description
Encode Club and Algorand Foundation announced the start of the Encode Algorand Hackathon. This hackathon challenge you to build a project using Algorand’s smart contracts, using either PyTeal or Reach.
Here are some examples of what Algorand would like to see built during the hackathon:
Implement a decentralized naming service — Build a decentralized naming service that allows various things such as addresses, multisig addresses, and website names to be decentralized using the Algorand blockchain. The primary goal of this project would be to decentralize Algorand addresses.
A decentralized perpetual contract trading dApp — Build a decentralized perpetual contract trading platform that showcases how these futures contracts can be implemented and used on Algorand. The primary goal would be to showcase building a perpetual contract and offering the ability for users to interact with it.
Crowdsourced membership insurance dApp — Build a decentralized insurance dApp that allows members to share risk. Members should be allowed to purchase tokens, buy insurance on specific contracts, and stake tokens on contracts to receive incentives. The dApp should provide mechanisms for submitting and voting on insurance claims.
