The Bridport Arts Centre in Bridport, England, announces a writing competition open to entrants aged 16 and over. The competition has four categories:
- Poetry: Poems of 42 lines maximum, no minimum.
- Short Story: Short stories of 5000 words maximum, no minimum.
- Flash Fiction: Flash fiction of 250 words maximum, no minimum.
- Novel Award: Novel of 8,000 words maximum, 5,000 words minimum taken from opening chapters PLUS a 300-word synopsis. (Open to writers aged 16 and over living in Britain and Ireland and British or Irish writers living overseas).
All entries must be in English.
Poetry, short story, and flash fiction entries must not have been published, self-published, published on any website, blog, or online forum, broadcast, or have won or been placed (2nd, 3rd, runner-up, etc.) in any other competition.
