Belfast Legacy Award from One Young World 2024

One Young World is thrilled to announce the launch of the Belfast Legacy Award in collaboration with Belfast City Council, an initiative designed to elevate and recognize young leaders across Northern Ireland. This prestigious award will grant 10 exceptional One Young World Ambassadors the remarkable opportunity to attend the One Young World Summit 2024, set to take place in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke from September 18 to 21. By participating in this global summit, these ambassadors will gain access to a world-class platform where they can engage with an international network of young leaders, contribute to transformative dialogues, and gain insights on pressing global challenges. This initiative aims to empower and inspire the next generation of changemakers from Northern Ireland, providing them with the tools and connections needed to drive positive change in their communities and beyond.

Following on from the historic 2023 Summit in Belfast last year, honouring the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, both One Young World and an assembled judging panel will select 10 One Young World Ambassadors living in Belfast who have continued creating a positive impact there after the event.

Scholarship of Belfast Legacy Award

Selected Ambassadors will receive:

• Access to the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke, Canada
• Hotel accommodation in Montréal between 18 – 21 September (inclusive) 2024.
• Travel to and from Montréal (flights in economy), provided by Belfast City Council.
• Catering which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue.

Eligibility

Candidates must:

• Be an existing One Young World Ambassador.
• Be living and making an impact in Belfast.
• Have a track record of creating tangible impact within their communities.
• Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to engaging with the One Young World Community.
