Opportunity description

The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) offers several scholarships for full-time students who are deaf and hard of hearing and who are pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university. A limited number of scholarships are also available for those pursuing a graduate degree.

Benefits

The number and amount of awards varies from year to year, for the 2022-2023 academic year, we expect to make ten awards ranging from $1,500 to $2,500. 

Eligibility criteria

  • Scholarship is open for for full-time students who are deaf and hard of hearing and who are pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university.
  • A limited number of scholarships are also available for those pursuing a graduate degree.
  • You must have bilateral hearing loss diagnosed before the age of 4. 
  • You must use Listening and Spoken Language as your primary communication mode. 
  • You must be enrolled in or planning to attend a mainstream university and working toward a four-year undergraduate degree or a graduate degree. 

Required Documents:

Transcripts: 

  1. High school: Showing grades 9-11 and the first semester of senior year. 
  2. College freshman: Include high school transcript and first semester of your freshman year. 
  3. Four-year undergraduate and graduate students: Include college transcript only

Recommenders Information: Name, Address and Email for three recommenders.

Ag Bell College offers Scholarships for for full-time students who are deaf and hard of hearing and who are pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university. They help families acquire hearing technology, secure financial aid and scholarships, and give them access to resources they need to succeed. And they strengthen the ability of teachers, hearing and speech therapists, and audiologists to help children who are deaf and hard of hearing to learn to hear and talk.
