Tashkeel platform announces a workshop for digital characters as part of the 2023 Summer Camp activities, for children between the ages of 12 and 16 in the UAE.

Benefits

  • This opportunity will help you dive into the world of figure drawing by expanding your skills to capture the movements of the human body with finesse and accuracy.
  • You'll also learn about visual storytelling techniques, where you'll explore basic composition and layout elements to create engaging comic book narratives.
  • This workshop will follow a dynamic approach allowing participants to move seamlessly between different traditional approaches, using physical materials and the digital world.
  • Participants will be introduced to the digital painting programs "Procreate" or "Sketchbook". You will also learn how you can use these digital tools by enhancing your artistic skills and taking your creative thinking to new heights.

Eligibility criteria

  • This workshop will take place on the 31st of July 2023 from 10 am to 1 pm.
  • Volunteers must be between 12 and 16 years old.
  • Only 15 places are available at this opportunity.
  • This workshop will be held at Al-Safa Art and Design Library.
  • The registration fee for this workshop is AED 250 (+ VAT).
  • The amount paid will not be refundable again.

About Tashkeel:

Latifa bint Maktoum established the Tashkeel Center in Dubai in 2008 to provide an incubating environment for the development of contemporary art and design practices in the United Arab Emirates. The center opens space for creative and experimental practices and dialogue between practitioners and the community at large, with multidisciplinary studios, workspaces, and exhibitions in Nad Al Sheba and Al Fahidi. Tashkeel adopts an open membership model and its annual program of training, residencies, workshops, discussions, exhibitions, international collaborations, and publications aims to support the development of artistic practitioners, engage the community and promote a lifelong learning approach as well as support the various creative and cultural industries.
