Opportunity description

The Norwegian Refugee Council is offering a volunteer opportunity in Jordan. The volunteers will work to help the council provide assistance to the needy refugees and Jordanians in Mafraq and ensure that the council's programs respond to the needs of the community. All volunteers will receive training in humanitarian work and in the field interested in working with it.

Note: There is no contract for this volunteer work.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • People of all ages can apply to participate.
  • The ability to read and write in Arabic.
  • Have basic computer skills.
  • The ability to commute within the community in which the volunteer works.
  • Ability to interact positively with a wide cross-section of society.
  • The ability to volunteer regularly.
  • Some opportunities may require specialized skills or presentation skills.

Volunteer Areas:

Volunteer programs include providing assistance in the following areas:

  • Legal and civil identification documents.
  • Empowering youth.
  • Shelter solutions.

How is the Volunteering Process Going?

You will be added to the council's volunteer list if your interests and skills are compatible with the needs and opportunities of the council. You will receive a two-day training. You will be asked to volunteer for a period of six to twelve months, depending on necessities and your availability.

Note: There will be no opportunities in some cases. You also have the freedom whenever you want to inform the council that you do not want to volunteer.

Compensations:

  • Volunteers will not receive financial compensation for their voluntary work.
  • Transportation and food costs will be covered according to a specified scale.
