BirthKuwait offers volunteer opportunities in Kuwait in eight different positions. You can apply If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of mothers and babies and wish to employ some of your time in volunteer work.
Volunteer Positions Available:
- Administrative Assistant.
- Communications/PR/Press Manager.
- Fundraising and Events Assistants.
- In-Kind Donation Coordinators.
- Monthly Newsletter Manager.
- Partnership Manager
- BirthKuwait Public Donation Co-Ordinator.
- Website Maintenance Manager
Key Responsibilities of Administrative Assistant:
- Assist with general clerical duties schedule training.
- Assist executive director, Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteer Trainer where required.
- Report to Executive Director
- Number of Positions: 2
- Commitment: 10 -15 hours per month.
- Training: Orientation and 1-day training.
Key Responsibilities of Communications/PR/Press Manager:
- Write and circulate regular press releases to local &international press.
- Respond to queries from journalists and other media personnel.
- Maintain a strong relationship with journalists, editors, bloggers.
- Monitor press coverage and maintain an online press archive.
- Maintain media center on the website.
- Number of Positions: 1
- Commitment: 10 -15 hours per month.
- Training: Orientation and 2-day training.
Key Responsibilities of Fundraising and Events Assistants:
- Work closely with Fundraising and Events manager on fundraising and planning events, including public lectures and workshops.
- Volunteer with the preparations for fundraising events & on the day of the event in roles such as, but not limited to:
- Sending out & delivering materials as needed. Helping to publicize events.
- Meet and greet guests and participants. Food and Beverage Coordinator.
- Work within the allocated annual events budget.
- Report to Fundraising and Events Manager.
- Number of Positions: No limit.
- Commitment: 10 -15 hours per month.
- Training: Orientation and 1-day training.
Key Responsibilities of In-Kind Donation Coordinators:
- Identify and make contact with companies, businesses, and individuals who can contribute in-kind donations - including but not limited to raffle prizes, equipment, and services required for events and workshops.
- Send timely thank you gifts and messages as appropriate.
- Maintain relationships with donors.
- Liaise with Communications/PR/Press Manager to ensure adequate coverage for sponsors based on their contribution.
- Maintain the use of the logo on the website based on levels of sponsorship or contribution.
- Number of Positions: 3
- Commitment: 20 hours per month.
- Training: Orientation and 1-day training.
Key Responsibilities of the Monthly Newsletter Manager:
- Work closely with ExecutiveDirector Fundraising manager, Partnerships manager, and Volunteer Coordinator to write new stories for regular newsletters.
- Send out monthly newsletters to the email database.
- Add names to the newsletter database.
- Report to Communications/PR/Press Manager
- Number of Positions: 1
- Commitment: 10 hours per month.
- Training: Orientation and 1-day training.
Key Responsibilities of Partnership Manager:
- Maintain accurate records of all corporate partners and sponsors.
- Maintain good, long-lasting relationships with sponsors.
- Send timely thank you gifts and messages as appropriate.
- Maintain the use of the logo on the website based on levels of sponsorship or contribution.
- Maintain regular contact and send regular updates to sponsors.
- Liaise with communications/PR/Press Manager to ensure adequate coverage for sponsors based on their contribution.
- Work closely with fundraising and events manager to maximize sponsorships of events and in-kind donations.
- Report to the executive director.
- Number of Positions: 1
- Commitment: 10 -15 hours per month.
- Training: Orientation and 2-day training.
Key Responsibilities of Public Donation Co-Ordinator:
- Coordinate donated goods from the public.
- Maintain a stock of items.
- Keep items organized.
- Record what items are required.
- Report to Executive Director.
- Number of Positions: 1
- Commitment: 5 hours per month.
- Training: Orientation and 1-day training.
Key Responsibilities of the Website Maintenance Manager:
- Maintain website: www.BirthKuwait.com
- Upload new stories & photos as required.
- Update BirthKuwait Networking, Professional Members section, and Sponsors section of the website.
- Update BirthKuwait calendar
- Work closely with ExecutiveDirector, Fundraising Manager, Partnerships Manager, and Volunteer Coordinator
- to post new information as required.
- Report to Communications/PR/ Press Manager.
- Number of Positions: 1
- Commitment: 10 hours per month.
- Training: Orientation and 1-day training.
