The Green Concept Award invites designers to participate in the international green product competition. Students and startups can submit their new concepts for sustainable materials, products, and services that are not yet on the market.

Benefits
Participants enjoy advantages from the 3 award phases (pre-selection, nomination, and winner). Early participation will be rewarded with additional benefits & reduced fees.
- In the first stage upon Pre-Selection, you are included in the sustainable innovation pool, which consists of admittance into the green database, basic website feature, and newsletter. You will receive the logo seal, which you can use unrestrictedly in your digital & print communication. As an innovation agency your content is introduced to media partners and potential listings for talks, exhibitions, workshops, and much more.
- In the second stage, Nominees will be selected and officially announced online. They have the chance to be introduced to brands, producers, and investors. It will request one physical prototype or model for assessment and display opportunities. Nominees can compete in the Audience Award to be voted as the best green concept in the eyes of the public.
- In the third stage, the Winners will be selected by an international jury from the Nominees and announced live in March at our Award Ceremony. Both Nominees & Winners will be featured in the annual Green Trend Book and new E-book teaser publication.
Eligibility criteria
- The contest is aimed at young designers (students and graduates), start-ups, and companies/institutions that want to show their concepts, develop them further, test them or market them in order to change society and the economy.
Selection Criteria:
- Approach: The originality, reproducibility, and credibility are assessed.
- Elaboration: Evaluated are the complexity of the analysis, the quality of the preparation, and the way of implementation.
- Impact: Consider the potential for change in environment, behavior, and production conditions.
- Design: This is about the design as an overall approach with the following criteria: aesthetics, user-friendly functionality, economic and ecological constructions, possibly the interaction of product and packaging. The quality of communication with the consumer about sustainability is also considered.
- Innovation: To assess the innovation, it is examined whether a problem/need (better) is solved, the scale of what is new, and how relevant it is.
- Sustainability: Assessment takes place along all phases of the life cycle (concept/pre-production, production, distribution, use, reuse). Information on the material used is considered separately, as well as information on the production conditions.

The Green Product Award is an annual international competition for innovative, sustainable products and services. The Green Concept Award is aimed at young designers, researchers, students, and start-ups who want to show, develop, test or market their concepts in order to change society and the economy. The Green Product Award supports a selection of participants with a variety of activities such as a presentation to industry & media investors.
