Opportunity description
Promys Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists is now available for pre-college students all over the world. Promys Program 2021 will be run as an online program and will be as close to the in-person program as possible, with intense mathematical activity throughout the day and social activities to build community.
Program Objectives:-
PROMYS is particularly interested in increasing diversity in mathematics and in science and technology opportunities more broadly.
Eligibility:-
Students must, by the first day of the program, have completed at least 9th grade (or its equivalent) and be at least 14 years old (There is no flexibility on these requirements).
Students can attend during the summer between high school and college (or during a gap year).
Students who already attend university are not eligible to apply to be students, though they may be eligible to apply for a counselor position.
Selection Criteria:-
Admissions decisions will be based on the following criteria:
An applicant’s solutions to a set of challenging problems.
Teacher recommendation.
High school transcript.
Responses regarding interest in the program.
Program Cost:-
- The cost of the program is $2,500.
- There is full and partial need-based financial aid. Please visit the
financial aid page for details. The program is free for domestic students whose families make under $60,000 per year (this includes the full cost of tuition as well as room and board when the program is run in person).

PROMYS is a six-week summer program at Boston University designed to encourage strongly motivated high school students to explore in depth the creative world of mathematics in a supportive community of peers, counselors, research mathematicians, and visiting scientists.
