The United Nations Volunteers Program is looking for a team of online volunteers with experience in developing concept notes for Galaxy4PEACE various programs (Teach Peace Early, Street Peace Talk ) and writing grant proposals on preventing violent extremism and peace education. This will enable the organization to apply for funds to enhance women's and young people's capacity to prevent and promote violent conflict in communities and schools in Nigeria.
Background and Objectives:
Galaxy4Peace is a youth-centered peacebuilding - educational and advocacy organization with a mandate to build a violence-free generation through the transformation of how individuals and communities respond to issues of conflict and violence. The organization has adopted a primary approach of teaching Peace Education in Nigerian Schools especially at the primary and secondary levels. With the volunteer help, Galaxy4Peace wants to increase its impact in Nigeria by developing concept note for its programs, create Workplan for 2020, and write winning grant proposals.
Main Tasks:
Online volunteers will do the following:
- Develop concept notes for the organization's major programs.
- Develop a work plan.
- Identify potential donors and calls for proposal submission and develop grant proposals.
Galaxy4Peace's Project Lead will provide all needed information to enable volunteers to develop the concept note, work-plan and write winning proposals based on each donor's requirements and format.
Requirements:
- Applicant must have extensive knowledge of proposal writing, developing concept note and creating a work-plan.
- The drive to dedicate their time;
- Ability to work with a “virtual” team and deliver;
- Proactive in bringing up ideas;
- Great writing and editing skills are a MUST have.
