Merit Scholarships for International and Lebanese Students From American University in Lebanon 2023

The American University of Beirut is offering Merit Scholarships for International and Lebanese Students. Merit scholarships are awarded to a number of outstanding high school students covering 100% of the recipient’s tuition and aim to encourage and promote academic excellence. Merit scholarships are awarded to a number of outstanding high school students covering up to 50% of the recipient’s tuition and aim to encourage and promote academic excellence.

1. Merit Scholarships for National Students (100% of Tuition)

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for a merit scholarship, you must:

1. be a Lebanese citizen.
2. be in the final year of secondary school in Lebanon studying for the Lebanese Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, or International Baccalaureate.
3. achieve excellent academic performance in high school and obtain high SAT scores.
4. demonstrate extra-curricular involvement and leadership skills.

Application procedure:

Fill the Merit scholarship application form and submit it to the Student Recruitment Office by January 31 at the latest. 

2. Merit Scholarships for International Students (up to 50% of Tuition)

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for a merit scholarship, you must:

1. be non- Lebanese.
2. be graduating from a school outside Lebanon in the academic year 2021-2022.
3. achieve excellent academic performance in high school and obtain high SAT scores.
4. demonstrate extra-curricular involvement and leadership skills.

Application procedure:

Apply for admissions, then fill the Merit scholarship application form for international students and email it to the Admissions Office by April 30 at the latest. 

3. Honor Scholarships for Current LAU Students (10-50% of Tuition)

After the lapse of the first academic year, all students who have completed 24 GPA and or P/NP credits at LAU and have a CGPA of 3.5 and above, are eligible for an Honor Scholarship based on the following:

• 3.50 ≤ CGPA ≤ 3.60 Scholarship 10%
• 3.61 ≤ CGPA ≤ 3.65 Scholarship 15%
• 3.66 ≤ CGPA ≤ 3.70 Scholarship 20%
• 3.71 ≤ CGPA ≤ 3.75 Scholarship 25%
• 3.76 ≤ CGPA ≤ 3.80 Scholarship 30%
• 3.81 ≤ CGPA ≤ 3.85 Scholarship 35%
• 3.86 ≤ CGPA ≤ 3.90 Scholarship 40%
• 3.91 ≤ CGPA ≤ 4.0 Scholarship 50%
