The Institute of Space Systems (IRS) at the University of Stuttgart invites students and young professionals from all disciplines and nationalities to participate in the Space Station Design Workshop 2019, which will take place from 21 to 27th of July, 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany.
The SSDW combines talented undergraduate and graduate students, as well as young professionals,in a cooperative yet competitive environment. Under guidance from experts in academia and industry, and drawing on their collective skills and experiences, these students will be tasked with designing a manned platform in space in an intensive one-week workshop at the IRS facility in Stuttgart, Germany. The workshop applies the process of concurrent engineering, based on the model of the Concurrent Design Facility of ESA, ESTEC. As interdisciplinary cooperation is integral to such projects, applicants from all fields of study are welcome at the workshop.

Eligibility
- Applicants must Possess excellent English communicating skills.
- Applicants should have interest in human spaceflight.
- Applicants must have Ability to work and communicate in an international, multidisciplinary team.
- Undergraduate, graduate and young professionals with less than 3 years of experience are encouraged to apply.
Funding
- The workshop itself is free of charge and accommodation will be provided.
- Partial travel refund is provided as well.
