Opportunity description

The Stipendium Hungaricum Program was launched by the Hungarian Government and is offering international students scholarships for the academic year 2021/2022. More than 5000 students can begin their studies in Hungary in the framework of this program.

Available Scholarships:

Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships are available for bachelor's, master's, one-tier master's, doctoral and non-degree programs (preparatory and specialization courses).

Benefits:

The scholarship will cover the following:

  1. Tuition-free education.
  2. Monthly stipend for Non-degree, bachelor, master and one-tier master level: monthly amount of HUF 43,700 (cca EUR 120) contribution to the living expenses in Hungary, for 12 months a year, until the completion of studies.
  3. Accommodation contribution: free dormitory place or a contribution of HUF 40 000/month to accommodation costs for the whole duration of the scholarship period.
  4. Medical insurance.

Eligibility:

  1. Applications will be considered eligible if the applicant is nominated by the responsible authorities of the Sending Partner.
  2. Applicants must be more the 18 years old at the time of application.
  3. Applicants must not be former Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship holders.
  4. Applicants are eligible to apply only if they meet the minimum language criteria set by the chosen host higher education institution.

Application Documents:

All of the following documents are compulsory and need to be submitted on January 16, 2020:

  1. Online application form.
  2. Motivation Letter: minimum 1 page and written in the language of the selected study program or in Hungarian.
  3. Proof of language proficiency and their translations in the language of the selected study program or in Hungarian.
  4. School certificates and their translations in the language of the selected study program or in Hungarian.
  5. Transcript of Records and its translations in the language of the selected study program or in Hungarian.
  6. Medical Certificate.
  7. Copy of Identification Document.
  8. Acceptance of Statement for Application in the online system.
