Opportunity description

FAPESP is offering Post-Doctoral fellowship that is aimed at distinguished researchers with a recent doctorate degree and a successful research track record. The fellowship enables the development of research within higher education and research institutions located in the State of Sao Paulo. Post-Doctoral Fellowships are granted for 24 months and can be renewed for 12 months.

Eligibility:

[1] The candidates for these post-doctoral fellowships should have completed their doctoral programs no more than seven years prior to application and the proposed research project should be strongly linked to the work being developed by the proposed host group in Sao Paulo.

[2] Fellowships are not awarded for periods shorter than six months.

[3] The fellowship demands full time dedication to the research project.

[4] The fellowship holder may not hold any formal or informal employment nor receive, during the term of the fellowship, a fellowship from another entity, salary or remuneration deriving from the exercise of activities of whatever nature.


Supervisor’s requirements:

[1] The supervisor should hold the title of doctor or an equivalent qualification, as well as competence and productivity in research in the area of the submitted project, as well as availability, measured by the work regime and the current number of students under supervision.

[2] The supervisor should be formally attached to a research institution in the State of São Paulo.

[3] FAPESP does not award any fellowships in situations where the supervisor has a close family relationship with the candidate.

[4] To provide merit reviews, free of charge, when requested by FAPESP on projects within his/her specialty and within the time frames established by the Foundation.

[5] To be up-to-date with FAPESP (handing in reviewed proposals, delivery of scientific reports and submission of accounts).
