Australia Awards provides citizens of the Palestinian territories with the opportunity to obtain their Master´s degree at an Australian tertiary institution. Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious international awards offered by the Australian Government to the next generation of global leaders for development. Through study and research, recipients develop the skills and knowledge to drive change and help build enduring people-to-people links with Australia.
Required Specialties
The priority areas of study for the Palestinian Territories are:
- Public Policy.
- Public Financial Management.
- Agriculture.
- Water Resources Management.

Preparatory Training
Successful applicants will be required to attend a Preparatory Training which include the following:
- IELTS – International English Language Testing System to assess English language competence.
- Course counselling.
- Pre-departure briefing.
- University’s Introductory Academic Program.
- Other required preparatory study on arrival in Australia.

- Overseas Student Health cover for the duration of the scholarship
- Supplementary academic support, fieldwork allowance for research students and masters by coursework which has a compulsory fieldwork component.

Eligibility
Palestinian Authority employees must:
- Have a documented IELTS score of 5.5 when applying to be considered for conditional awards.
- Be an employee of the Palestinian Authority with at least two years’ experience.
- Have the support of their Ministry to return to work on completion of the scholarship.
- Have a Bachelor degree.
- Receive a final endorsement from their line ministry
Note: Priority will be given to candidates who do not already hold a Masters degree or those who have not received a scholarship from other scholarship programs.
Non-Palestinian Authority candidates must:
- Have a Bachelor degree.
- Have a documented IELTS score of 5.5 when applying to be considered for conditional awards.
- Return to work in the Palestinian Territories on completion of the scholarship.
Required Documents
- Proof of Citizenship.
- birth certificate/ /passport if available (card/drivers licence if passport is not available).
- photographic identification.
- Tertiary degree certificates (Bachelors and Masters level).
- Academic transcripts translated to English.
- IELTS, TOEFL or PTE results.

Applicants will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Academic competence.
- Potential outcome, specifically the contribution to development outcomes in the Palestinian Territories.
- Professional and personal leadership attributes including relevant work experience.
