Opportunity description
The “Nostalgia” Media, Translation and Publishing announces the “Nostalgia Award for Literary Creativity” in its first edition, which aims to support works that are under the genre of the novel and which will be given to only one winner.
Terms of participation:
- Participants must be Egyptian citizens and not more than 45 years old on 1 March 2019.
- Participants must prove that they are the authors of the work and that there are no intellectual rights of others in all contents of the work, and any dispute arising regarding the intellectual property rights is the responsibility of the author and not the Award.
- The work must be prepared for publication for the first time, and must not have been previously published or contracted to publish it electronically or on paper. The work must also not have received any other awards.
- Works are accepted in standard Arabic, and dialects are accepted if they are used out of necessity.
- Entries must be sent by mail to the publishing house’s address.
- Works are sent in 3 printed copies on A4 size, 14 sizes of Simplified Arabic, with at least 18,000 words and not more than 40,000 words.
- The name of the participant must not be mentioned in any form within the printed or electronic version of the work.
- The name of the award must be written on the envelope containing the author’s participation in clear handwriting.
- Any actions that are not in compliance with the terms mentioned previously or sending the application after the due date will result in excluding the work.
- The shortlisted will be announced at the end of October 2019, and the final results will be announced at the end of December 2019. The winner and shortlisted will be honored in an event as well as attend various other events.
- The Award will not be obliged to disclose the reasons for the selection or exclusion or publish the names of the members of the jury that consists of a large elite of critics and writers. The House is also not obliged to return the works of the participants, whether they won or not.
Award:
A prize for one winner of EGP 5,000 will be awarded the right to publish the winning work.
