Opportunity description

Winona State University in the US invites undergraduate international students from anywhere in the world to apply for the Cross-Cultural Scholarship (CCS).

  1. You will automatically receive the scholarship when you enroll as an International student at Winona State University.
  2. All new students are required to attend the CCS Training session during International Orientation.
  3. Work on three projects, minor and major. Minor Projects are events that require the same dedication, preparation, and responsibility as the Major Project-- just less time commitment. A Major Project is an event that involves a greater time commitment, preparation, and responsibility. It often involves spending the entire day at an elementary school, secondary school or university.

Maintaining the scholarship:

At the end of each academic year in May, each CCS recipient will be reviewed to determine if they will receive the scholarship again next year. To maintain the scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Maintain a valid F-1 or J-1 Immigration Status
  2. Complete three Cross-Cultural Outreach projects during the academic year, starting in the fall and ending in the spring semester. These projects are called Minor Projects two and Major Project (1), for a total of three.
  3. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50 Maximum length of scholarship is 9 semesters.
  4. Students who start at WSU in the Spring semester need to complete one Major Project and one Minor Project, or two Minor Projects to fulfill their CCS requirements for the entire academic year.
  5. If you began your studies at WSU in August, you must complete one major project and two minor projects for a total of three CCOP projects throughout the academic year (August – May).
  6. If you began your studies at WSU in January, you must complete one major project and one minor project for a total of two CCOP projects throughout the academic year (August – May).
