DEWA has a comprehensive strategy to promote Emiratisation. DEWA’s Emiratisation plan includes providing scholarships for Emirati students in some of the leading educational organizations in the UAE and abroad. The Scholarship Programme includes:
- Intilaq Programme for a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering in different government and private universities and colleges: DEWA has introduced this program to be implemented in collaboration with several private and government universities and colleges targeting the following categories of candidates.
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering in the United Arab Emirates University: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, in collaboration with UAE University, has driven all its efforts to nationalize engineering positions by providing students with the opportunity of enrolling in Bachelor’s degree program (Electrical Engineering) to prepare and develop UAE national high school science graduates to be recruited for suitable engineering positions at DEWA.
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering in Higher Colleges of Technology (Dubai Men’s College): DEWA introduced this program, which is implemented in cooperation with the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai, to prepare Emirati High School graduates for engineering positions at DEWA, after getting a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant should be a UAE citizen.
- Achieving at least 80% in the high-school certificate.
- Passing the written tests and interview.
- Undertaking to work for DEWA after getting the bachelor’s degree as per the agreed period.
- To be medically fit.
- To have a certificate of good conduct.
Funding:
Students enrolled in this program are entitled to the following benefits:
- Monthly allowance of AED 6,500 for the duration of the study.
- Medical insurance for the duration of the study.
- An additional reward of AED 1,500 during summer training for 6 weeks each year.
Salary and benefits after receiving the bachelor’s degree:
After completing the program and receiving the bachelor’s degree, the graduate is appointed in an engineering position at DEWA and receives an attractive salary and additional benefits.

- Two passport-size photos.
