Every year the Austrian Development Cooperation offers students from developing countries scholarships to help with tuition fees and General expenses. The scholarships are available for those who wish to enroll in a 8-9 month program in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management in Austria.
Types of Scholarships
The Austrian Development Cooperation offers two types of scholarships:
- Scholarship for ADC’s priority countries.
- Scholarship for other developing countries.
And they can be used for any of the modules below:
[1] General Module including the Special Modules:
- Hospitality Management Module; or
- Tourism Management Module.
[2] Additional Module: Teacher Training Module.
General Requirements
In order to apply for this scholarship, applicants should have/ be:
- GCE A Levels or equivalent, which enables enrollment at a University.
- Practical experience in tourism (hotels, travel agencies, tourism Management) or any similar practical experience (minimum preferably 1 year) or graduates of a tourism and hospitality institute
- All courses are conducted in English language. Prove of excellent command of English is absolutely necessary. An internationally recognized certificate proving the knowledge of English (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge or equivalent) is required for applicants from non English speaking countries.
If the student’s English language is not sufficient the Institute may decide whether he/she has to take an extra English language course in Austria at his/her own expenses. - Age Limit for scholarship application: 35 years.
Amount of Scholarships
[1] Scholarship for ADC Priority Countries (which include Palestine from the Middle East region)
The scholarship includes:
- tuition fee.
- accommodation.
- flight tickets (from home country to Salzburg and back).
- health insurance.
- food from Monday – Sunday.
- excursions (except field trip to ITB Berlin).
- €205, pocket money per month.
This scholarship does not include transfer expenses nor does it include a visa fee.
[2] Scholarship for Developing Countries
This scholarship includes:
- tuition fee.
- health insurance.
- food from Monday – Friday.
- excursions (except ITB Berlin).
- €205,- pocket Money per month.
Not included in the scholarship are:
- accomondation.
- flight ticket: students who are on this scholarship have to cover their own travel expenses from their countries to Salzburg and back.
- Visa fee.
