Pro Helvetia announces it's opportunity of studio residency for 3 months for Swiss artists and cultural practitioners in the Arab region (to Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Lebanon) or, conversely, in Switzerland. Pro Helvetia studio residency is a platform that provides artists with the opportunity to gain a broad insight into a different cultural environment. In addition to be a place to work and accommodation it offers specific coaching too. It launched in 2002 and aims to enhance cultural exchange and artistic collaborations between Switzerland and the Arab region. Pro Helvetia works with a network of organisations that can host residencies in different cities in Switzerland and in the Arab region. It looks to customize each residency according to the needs of the individual arts professional as much as possible. Pro Helvetia Cairo facilitates residencies in Switzerland for artists and cultural practitioners from Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia. Swiss artists and cultural practitioners can apply for a residency to both of Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia in the Arab region.
Selection Criteria:
- You should have a convince track record. Professional track record extending beyond local/regional level.
- You must be clear, contextually relevant motivation.
- You should have a relevant and adequate language skills (English, French and/or German).
Funding:
- It will cover the costs of travel, accommodation, insurance and per diem.
- Applicants may benefit three times in total from a Pro Helvetia studio residency.

The foundation Pro Helvetia is a public foundation of Switzerland that promotes artistic and cultural collaboration between the Arab region and Switzerland, acting as a link between cultural projects from Switzerland and local promoters, initiating co-productions with cultural practitioners and supporting residencies for artists.
