Opportunity description

Majid Al Futtaim announces a job opportunity as an Assistant Accountant in the P2P system in Egypt. This department is one of the new departments recently created for all wholly owned subsidiaries of Majid Al Futtaim, which is responsible for all transactional accounting operations for entities including preparation of financial statements. You will be responsible for delivering assigned accounts payable processes, approving accounts payable entries, and general ledger support activities.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

Providing support in closing the outstanding transactions of AED 10.2 billion per annum (2019 figure).
Maintaining all supplier accounts within the company policy.
Reviewing payment requests submitted by different departments to suppliers in line with the governing policies and procedures.
Reconciliation of supplier accounts and necessary follow-up actions.
Reviewing staff travel allowances and expenses (T&E) in accordance with the company policies.
Monitor suppliers on a monthly basis, to clarify issues if any in a timely manner.
Processing invoice/payment booking as assigned by the Lead Payment Process Manager (Invoice Booking, GRN..).
Monitoring, managing and resolving supplier queries/complaints, escalating them when necessary to the Lead Payment Process Manager as per the agreed SLA.

Eligibility criteria

Must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting.
At least 6 months experience working in a finance department including some experience in an Accounts Payable role.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, and attention to detail.
Strong customer service skills.
Advanced experience using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver high quality work under pressure.
